Police on the hunt for axe-wielding bandit in Ontario town [Video]

Durham Police have released surveillance images of a man seen breaking the front window of a home in Bowmanville with an axe, one of three men accused of a break-and-enter at the residence on the afternoon of April 14.

Officers responded to a break-and-enter near Trudeau Drive and Marchwood Crescent at 2 p.m. on Monday April 14, an incident that happened when no one was home at the residence.

The investigation revealed that three suspects smashed the front door of the residence and entered before fleeing in a black Honda CRV Sport Utility Vehicle prior to the arrival of police.

Police said the break-in “appears to be an isolated incident” and the investigation remains ongoing.
