Police Rule Out Foul Play After Walmart Employee Found Dead in Store Oven [Video]

Nearly one month after a 19-year-old Walmart employee was found dead in a store’s walk-in oven in Halifax, Canada, authorities shared an update about their investigation.

The Halifax Police Department announced in a news release on Monday, Nov. 18, that investigators have determined the young woman’s death “is not suspicious and there is no evidence of foul play.”

The body of the teenage Walmart worker, later identified as Gursimran Kaur, was discovered on Oct. 19 after police responded to a “sudden death” at the store, Halifax Regional Police said in an Oct. 21 news release

In another update shared a day later, police said that Kaur was found in a large walk-in oven belonging to the store’s bakery department.

Investigators have met with the young woman’s family “to share this update and extend condolences,” according to police on Monday, who said, “Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”
