Police search for suspects in attempted armoured vehicle robbery outside Winnipeg bank [Video]

Winnipeg police are searching for three suspects who allegedly tried to rob an armoured vehicle parked outside a bank.

According to police, officers were called to the 1500 block of Kenaston Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report about an attempted robbery.

Officers said they met with two security guards involved in the incident. One of the guards said he was waiting inside the truck while the other was walking back from the bank. The guards alleged that when the driver got back into the car, an unknown male wearing a face covering grabbed him from behind.

The guards said two more males, who also had their faces covered, came up to the vehicle and demanded the driver open the doors. However, the driver said he wasn’t able to open the doors right away, and the suspects drove off in a dark-coloured vehicle.

The security guards weren’t injured and called police.
