Police search landfill for remains of missing woman in Hamilton, Ontario [Video]

Police are searching a landfill for the remains of a missing Hamilton woman.

The Glanbrook Landfill site at 1500 Haldibrook Rd. is now being searched for missing person Shalini Singh, Hamilton Police said in a press release on Feb. 25.

Family members reported Shalini Singh, 40, missing on Dec. 10 after her family had not heard from her in several days and were concerned for her well-being, police said. Family and friends last spoke to Singh at 7:10 p.m. on Dec. 4.

The investigation led to growing concerns about Singh’s safety and the Homicide Unit took over.

Initially, Singh was reported missing alongside her common-law boyfriend but he was located on Dec. 11 at a family member’s residence outside Hamilton, police said.

Police said the boyfriend is not cooperating with the investigation and has provided no information to find Singh.
