Poll suggests former Mississauga mayor behind in race to capture provincial seat [Video]

She may have been elected mayor of Mississauga three times and is the leader of the Ontario Liberals, but Bonnie Crombie is in a battle to capture a seat in the Ontario legislature.

A recently concluded poll conducted by INsauga.com suggests Crombie is running second behind Conservative Silvia Gualtieri in the provincial riding of Mississauga East-Cooksville.

The poll asked the question: Who will you vote for in Mississauga East-Cooksville riding in the upcoming provincial election?

After a week of collecting data, the poll shows that 48.69 per cent indicated they would vote for Gualtieri, while 38.98 said they would cast a ballot for Crombie.

There were 1,298 respondents who participated in the poll with Gualtieri receiving 632 votes and Crombie 506.

Here is the breakdown:

  • SILVIA GUALTIERI – PC Party of Ontario – 632 votes (48.69%)
  • BONNIE CROMBIE – Ontario Liberal Party – 506 votes (38.98%)
  • ALEX VENUTO – Ontario NDP – 83 votes (6.39%)
