Powwow will showcase Indigenous culture and identities to Ontario audience [Video]

A celebration of Indigenous culture and identities will be featured at a Peel District School Board event this week

The powwow at the Maawnjiding Wingushkeng Centre for Indigenous Excellence and Land Based Learning will take place on May 30.

It is located at 13990 Mississauga Road in the Cheltenham area of Caledon.

The celebration is free and will be open to the general public from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.  Grand entry is scheduled for noon.

Organized by the board’s Indigenous Education team who are a part of the Equity, Indigenous Education, School and Community Relations department, in collaboration with community partners, the second annual powwow, themed “Building Our Bundles,” promises to be an exciting event that celebrates diverse Indigenous cultures and identities, according to organizers.
