Prince Albert police respond to 77 calls, make 13 arrests on New Years Eve [Video]

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) had a busy evening on New Year’s Eve, responding to 77 calls for service.

In a news release sent Wednesday afternoon, PAPS said police made 13 arrests throughout the evening into the morning of New Year’s Day.

Police say some of the arrests were made during the New Year’s Eve check stop. In one of the check stops conducted alongside MADD Prince Albert, a 31-year-old driver who was holding a suspended driver’s license, blew a warning during an alcohol screening test.

Police observed a bottle of alcohol in the vehicle before finding ammunition and a gun in the car.

The 31-year-old man is facing numerous weapons and firearms charges, as well as charges for possession of a cocaine and methamphetamine.
