Gillingham Brewery of Prince Edward County earned three medals – including double golds – at the Ontario Brewing Awards at Niagara College Saturday night.
“We are beyond thrilled to have won again tonight,” the brewery posted following the gala event in Niagara-on-the-Lake. “Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to the Ontario Brewing Awards for supporting and recognizing Ontario brewers.”
Gillingham, located just north of Wellington on family-owned lands that also houses Domaine Darius Winery, earned gold medals for Triple A in the American Amber Ale category and top marks for Amber European Beer for its Vienna Lager.
The brewery also earned a silver for ES Marzen in the Pale Malty European Lager category.
The Ontario Brewing Awards is a BJCP-sanctioned brewing competition dedicated to recognizing and celebrating excellence in craft beer within the province, with awards given in 38 style categories.
