The footprint for the new Costco planned in Winnipeg could be growing.

A subdivision and zoning hearing is scheduled next week at city hall for the development.

A report is recommending approval of an application to slightly expand the site for parking and loading areas associated with the planned Costco.

“This amendment seeks to expand the northern boundary of the PDO area to accommodate an additional 0.93 acres,” says the report.

The project is part of the larger Westport Festival development near Assiniboia Downs.

The report says construction for the Costco store is currently underway. In July the city granted Costco a development permit for the site.
