VANCOUVER, B.C. — The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) announced, Wednesday, that it will be expanding for the 2025-26 season–its third in existence–with the addition of a team in Vancouver, British Columbia, becoming the seventh team in the league.

A team name and expansion draft information will be announced in the coming weeks, with the new team set to play its home games at Pacific Coliseum, former home of the previous Utica Comets parent club, Vancouver Canucks.

The PWHL made its debut in Utica in December 2023, with the inaugural pre-season evaluation camp bringing all six original teams to the Utica University Nexus Center, for practices, exhibition contests, and a Fan Fest, giving people their first look at the league in action prior to its first regular season.
