The Office of the City Auditor has opened special reviews on events leading up to and after the February 2024 death of Allison Lussier.

The federal government announced on Monday a plan to send dozens of FBI agents across the country to investigate missing and murdered Indigenous people.

It’s called Operation Not Forgotten and Republicans say it’s renewing President Trump’s efforts that he started in his first term.

For decades, data shows Native Americans disproportionately go missing, and murder is the third leading cause of death for Native women.

Allison Lussier was discovered dead in Minneapolis back in February of 2024. Her aunt, Jana Williams, is still pushing for answers from city leaders about what happened from Lussier’s cause of death to what she says are gaps in the police investigation.

“I don’t have the choice of giving up,” said Lussier.
