RCMP investigate suspected overdose deaths at homeless camps in Dawson Creek [Video]

DAWSON CREEK –RCMP are investigating after two individuals were found dead at separate homeless camps in Dawson Creek.

According to the RCMP, an unidentified man discovered Lynsey Shendruk unresponsive after going to check on her at the site located on the intersection of 17th Street and Willowbrook Crescent.

The man then rode his bike to a nearby convenience store to call 9-1-1.

Police and the Coroner’s Service attended the scene where Shendruk was pronounced dead.

The same man who reported her death was then later found deceased on the 1500 Block of Chamberlain.

While the Coroner’s Service has not yet determined the exact causes of death, both fatalities are suspected to be due to drug overdoses.
