State Police charged Rebecca Strauser, 47, of Dalmatia, after she reportedly assaulted police during a traffic stop in Halifax Township on April 26.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A Northumberland County woman was charged after she reportedly assaulted police in Dauphin County. 

According to Pennsylvania State Police, 47-year-old Rebecca Rhetta Strauser, of Dalmatia, was charged with aggravated assault/assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, DUI, drug possession and multiple summary traffic violations. 

State Police reported that they conducted a traffic stop along North River Road, Halifax Township, on April 26. 

Reportedly, the Trooper who initiated the stop smelled marijuana from Strauser’s vehicle. They added that they noticed multiple signs of impairment from a controlled substance while speaking to Strauser. 

According to police, Strauser started assaulting the Trooper and resisted arrest. She was eventually taken into custody, and authorities later determined that she was reportedly under the influence of cocaine.
