Ontario residents are being urged to check their fridges and freezers for ground beef products that may pose health risks due to potential bacterial contamination.

The affected product is being recalled from the marketplace due to possible contamination with E. coli.

The beef was sold in variable sizes with no UPC and is marked with a best before date of Feb. 28, 2025 and a packed-on date of Feb. 24, 2025.

These specific packages were sold at Aladdin’s Food, located at Wonderland Road North in London, Ontario.

Food contaminated with E. coli may not appear or smell spoiled but can still cause illness. Reported symptoms range from nausea and vomiting to abdominal cramps and watery or bloody diarrhea.

In severe cases, individuals may experience strokes or seizures, require blood transfusions or dialysis, or suffer permanent kidney damage. Some cases can be fatal.
