RECALL: Cooking device lid recalled in Canada amid 106 burn injury reports [Video]

A cooking device lid has been recalled in Canada amid 106 burn injury reports in the United States, officials say.

Health Canada said in a recall notice that the pressure-cooking lid of Ninja Foodi Tendercrisp multi-cookers are affected. SharkNinja said the OP-300 Series pressure cooker / air fryers are affected.

The lists of affected products from Health Canada and SharkNinja are at the bottom of this article.

“The Foodi multi-cooker’s pressure-cooking lid can be opened by a consumer during use, causing hot contents to escape, posing a potential risk of burn injuries to consumers,” Health Canada said.

The recall involves the lids and also any replacement lids for the affected models that consumers may have bought from SharkNinja separately. 

“The Foodi multi-cookers’ other functions, such as air crisping, are not affected by this recall,” Health Canada said.
