RECALL: More than 20,000 SUVs recalled in Canada [Video]

A recall has been issued for over 20,000 SUVs in Canada due to a software issue that may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying properly when reversing.

According to Transport Canada, the affected vehicles do not meet current safety standards that require a clear rearview image when the car is in reverse. A distorted or missing display could limit driver visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

Risks: Reduced rear visibility while backing up can make it harder to spot obstacles or pedestrians, increasing the chance of collisions.

What you should do: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to visit a dealership, where technicians will perform a free software update to correct the issue.

The recall applies to 20,010 vehicles in total. Affected models include the 2024 and 2025 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport.
