RECALL: Pool vacuum cleaners pose fire risk, prompting warning in Canada [Video]

A pool vacuum cleaner has been recalled in Canada because officials say it poses a fire risk.

Health Canada said in a notice that the product “has a large current adapter that can overheat, posing burn and fire hazards.”

The affected product is the Aiper Seagull Pro ZT6001 Cordless Robotic Swimming Pool Vacuum Cleaner with the model number ZT6001.

It was sold through Best Buy, Amazon and Tanguay, the notice said.

From July 2023 to April 2024, 2,606 of the vacuums were sold in Canada.

As of March 27, the company has received one report of a vacuum catching on fire in Canada while charging, though there were no injuries or property damage, officials said.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pool vacuums and contact Aiper to receive a free replacement Aiper Scuba S1 robotic pool cleaner,” Health Canada said.
