Ontario residents and Canadians across the country are being urged to check their pantries for a sweet treat that could pose serious health risks, particularly for those with nut allergies.

Eatlove brand Organic Almond Butter Cup

The affected products are sold in  51 g packages with UPC 6 27987 94865 3, and are being recalled for all codes where peanut is not declared on the label.

These specific batches of chocolate were sold online and distributed nationally across Canada.

The recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency test results as part of a food safety investigation. The CFIA says that the product is being removed from the marketplace and further investigations may lead to additional recalls.

Risks: Poses mild to severe health hazards.

What you should do: Individuals are advised not to consume the product if they are allergic or sensitive to peanuts. The recalled item should be thrown away in the garbage or returned to the location where it was purchased.
