Thousands of products sold in Canada have been recalled because officials say they pose a “chemical hazard.”

Health Canada said in a notice that the products contain phenol, which is a prohibited ingredient in cosmetics.

“Phenolic compounds are known skin sensitizers and can produce chemical burns (corrosive action) to the skin,” officials said.

The affected products are the black, red and brown Arooj Henna Cones, which were sold in triangular-shaped cone packages.

The black product has the UPC number 7845129997, red’s UPC number is 7845129977, and brown has the UPC number 7845129988.

There were 5,760 of the cones sold in Canada from November to May, the notice said.

Officials said they have received one report of an incident in Canada.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and dispose of them in regular household garbage,” the notice said.
