Another week brings another round of recalls.

Residents are urged to check their households for the following products, which pose various safety risks, including fire hazards, laceration risks and possible bacterial contamination that could cause allergic reactions.

Ryobi battery-powered mowers

A recall has been issued for certain Ryobi brushless 21-inch cordless walk-behind self-propelled multi-blade push mowers (40V HP).

The affected mowers feature a black cutting deck, gray top housing, and a black grass bag with the Ryobi logo. The recall applies to model numbers:

  • RY401140 US
  • RY401015 BTLUS
  • RY401015 US
  • RY401150 US
  • RY401140US-Y
  • RY401150US-Y
  • RY401160 US
  • RY401016 US

The with serial numbers ranging from KC21032D010001 to KC21327N999999. The model and serial numbers are located on the mower.

The issue stems from a push-on connector inside the powerhead, which can overheat.

The company reported that approximately 28,400 were sold in Canada and approximately 217,400 units were sold in the United States between Feb. 2021 and Jan. 2025
