The city is helping ensure missing and murdered Indigenous women and two-spirit people won’t be forgotten with a new installation for Red Dress Day.

On Monday, you might see red dresses hung from trees in Brampton’s Ken Whillans Square and at cites across the city.

The upcoming installations are part of nationwide Red Dress Day events, honouring and remembering Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQI+ people (MMIWG2S) in Canada, like Marcedes Myran and Morgan Harris, whose remains were found in a Manitoba landfill earlier this year.

The city says honouring Myran, Harris and other missing and murdered Indigenous women gives “a voice not only to those who are still missing and those whose lives have been lost, but also to the communities and loved ones who continue to be impacted.”
