Regina schools experience Winter Wonderland [Video]

With just a few school days left, roughly 900 students from five Regina schools were treated to a day of holiday festivities on Wednesday.

For the second year in a row, the Conexus Arts Centre was decorated as a Winter Wonderland and host to the Annual Community School Day.

Organizers said the purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity to children they might not otherwise have during the holiday season.

“We want to create good Christmas memories for these kids,” said Roshelle Montgomery, the manager of marketing at the Conexus Arts Centre.

Tammy Appell, the principal of St. Peter Elementary School said her students don’t ordinarily visit the Conexus Arts Centre, making the visit extra special.

“We want them to experience the sense of community here. I hope they go into the holidays feeling a bit of gratitude for the opportunity given today,” she said.
