Residential parking ban lifted in Winnipeg [Video]

The City of Winnipeg has lifted its parking ban on residential streets.

The residential parking first came into effect Wednesday, preventing street parking in specific zones while snow clearing took place.

While the residential parking ban was on, the city’s winter route parking bans were suspended. This meant drivers could park overnight on designated winter routes from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. on Saturday.

Now that the residential parking ban is over, the annual winter route parking ban is back in rotation. Parking is prohibited on designated streets from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m.

If someone’s street wasn’t plowed, they can contact 311 or use the snow removal request form.

Residents are also reminded to watch for temporary no parking signs.
