Restrained inmate who later died said ‘I can’t breathe’ more than 20 times, video shows

A disturbing video of a violent confrontation between an Indigenous inmate and a group of correctional officers has been released by a Manitoba court. William Ahmo died a week after the February 2021 altercation. The video is now being used at the trial of one of the officers who was charged in connection to Ahmo’s death.
