Rio Theatre to screen Missing From Fire Trail Roada film that sheds light on the disappearances of Indigenous women [Video]

On November 3, the Rio Theatre will present Missing From Fire Trail Road, a powerful documentary by filmmaker Sabrina Van Tassel. The film delves into the unresolved disappearance of Mary Ellen Johnson-Davis, a Native American woman from Washington’s Tulalip Indian reservation who vanished in 2020. Through Johnson-Davis’ story, Van Tassel explores a troubling pattern: Indigenous women across the United States who continue to go missing at alarming rates, often with little to no intervention from authorities.

Van Tassel and executive producer Deborah Parker, a Tulalip Tribes activist and former vice-chairwoman, will attend the Vancouver screening for an in-person Q&A.
