Roads washed out by flooding all across the state [Video]

Several roads across North Carolina were washed out by severe flooding and heavy rainfall as a result of Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight which started on Monday with remnants dumping rain for three days across the state. Several counties were impacted including Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover, Stokes, Surry, and Rockingham. Governor Roy Cooper declared a State of Emergency on Tuesday. “This state of emergency declaration will help counties hit by severe rainfall and flooding to recover from this storm,” Gov. Cooper said. “I urge North Carolinians across the state to remain cautious as many roads are still dangerous.”In Stokes County, flooding washed out a portion of Bethesda Church Road as pavement buckled leaving a section impassable.The sheriff’s office shared photos of the damage and also of the flooding.Flooding also closed Moore Springs Road at Talley Road and Franklin Moore Road Tuesday night in Stokes County.
