“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical,” featuring the “most famous reindeer of all,” is coming to the Orpheum Theatre, 528 Pierce St., on Dec. 19.

The live stage show, revolving around Santa Claus’ efforts to help save Christmas with the help of Rudolph and a holly jolly cast of characters including Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius and Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, is based upon 1964’s beloved stop-motion animated TV classic “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Tickets are on sale at orpheumlive.com or at the Primebank Box Office.

Movie critic Bruce Miller says “Maxxxine” doesn’t accomplish much or really scare. It’s a visual treat but a scary movie dud. It’s merely an attempt for a director to walk in other’s shoes, not blaze new trails.
