Sask. inmate dies in hospital, police recommend no criminal charges [Video]

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) has concluded its investigation into the death of a 30-year-old woman who died in hospital.

The investigation began on April 17, following notification by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Police say the woman was previously arrested on March 17 by Saskatoon and Corman Park police under charges for dangerous driving, evading police, and firearms offenses.

While in custody at Prince Albert’s Pine Grove Correctional Centre, she was hospitalized on March 23, and later transferred to a Saskatoon hospital. Her charges were stayed on April 1.

The Prince Albert Police Service says despite medical intervention, she died in hospital on April 13.

Police say after reviewing evidence, investigators recommend no criminal charges.
