Residents of a Saskatoon neighbourhood are coming together to support a family who lost their home in a fire.
Saskatoon fire crews responded to flames in a home in the Hampton Villas at around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
The fire department said one person inside the house was treated for smoke inhalation.
Seth Freeman, a pastor of Hampton Free Methodist Church, created a GoFundMe page to raise money for the family of five as they transition into a new home and wait for insurance.
“Everybody’s safe, which is really good. But they’re shook up, obviously and they lost just about everything,” Freeman said.
Freeman said Hampton Village is known to help its neighbours.
