After serving meals for over 50 years, the locally owned and operated Cave restaurant on 8th Street has been sold.

Restaurant Manager George Kosmas tells CTV the restaurant will continue to operate until February 22.

The Cave Restaurant first opened up in 1973 and has been operated by the Kosmas family ever since.

Kosmas says the reason the restaurant was sold is because the owners wanted to “call it a career.”

He says there is no word on what the new owners plan to do once they take over.
