Sawed-off shotgun and three knives seized during Cambridge arrest [Video]

Two people from Thunder Bay are facing drug trafficking and weapons charges after they were arrested in Cambridge.

Waterloo Regional Police Service said officers were conducting proactive patrols in the Hespeler Road area when they spotted an unoccupied 2023 Toyota Tundra parked in a hotel parking lot. They said the vehicle had been stolen from Toronto in a reprogramming theft.

When two people approached the vehicle, police arrested both of them.

Officers seized suspected fentanyl, hydromorphone and methamphetamine. They also found a sawed-off shotgun, three knives, ammunition, multiple cellphones and reprogrammable keys.

A 43-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman have been charged with four counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon, five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, uttering a forged document and possession of stolen property over …
