KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – A bank robbery in Kansas City, Kansas, followed a false threat called into a school district, leading to a lockdown Friday morning.
At 9:40 a.m. on Friday, KCKPD received a call that an armed individual wearing a bulletproof vest had entered an elementary school in the Kansas City, Kansas School District.
Shortly after the call, the US Bank at 10995 Parallel Parkway near the Legends was robbed. After the robbery, the suspect fled the US bank near the Legends in a silver Ford Escape.

Law enforcement officials believe the call about the armed individual entering the school was a false report made to lead police resources away from the bank.
