Scientists have their own Doomsday Clock Spotify playlist for the ‘end of the world’ featuring Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, and The Who.

Today, scientists from around the world unveiled the 2024 update to the ‘Doomsday Clock’, which represents how close we are to a man-made global catastrophe such as climate change or nuclear war. Whilst news surrounding the announcement is understandably bleak, those same scientists also have a Doomsday Spotify playlist for the end of the world – and it’s brilliant!

Alongside the Doomsday Clock, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists committee also has an official music playlist of songs that either mention or demonstrate inspiration from the infamous clock.

Whilst scientists aren’t necessarily known for their taste in music, it has to be said the Doomsday Clock playlist is one of the best-targeted playlists we’ve come across in some time.
