The police report filed in May 2024 shows that 21-year-old Teresa Youngblut’s parents were concerned for her mental health.

The Seattle woman, 21-year-old Teresa Youngblut, faces two weapons charges in connection with the death of Border Patrol Agent David Maland, 44, who died Jan. 20 during a shootout in Coventry, a small town about 20 miles from the Canadian border. 

Youngblut had been traveling with Felix Bauckholt, a German citizen who also was killed. The pair had been under surveillance for several days.

New documents show Youngblut’s parents were concerned for her mental health in May 2024 and attempted to file a missing persons report with the Seattle Police Department.

The police report detailed actions Youngblut recently took, including systematically removing her personal belongings from her home, lying about her whereabouts and sending an email to her parents saying she had moved, changed her phone number and would not be able to be contacted. …
