Police say a 12-year-old girl has died after a house fire in Oshawa last week that also left her mother and nine-year-old sister dead.

Emergency officials were called to the scene on McGrigor Street just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, where crews found all levels of the house in flames.

Three people were removed from the home and two of them — a 46-year-old woman and her nine-year-old daughter — were pronounced dead.

The other child removed from the house died from her injuries Monday morning.

Durham Police say the 56-year-old father of the children, who was found outside the burning home when crews arrived, is expected to survive as his condition has improved.

Police say autopsies show no signs of foul play and while the investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office into the cause of the fire continues, it’s not believed to be arson at this time.
