Second inmate dies at Edmonton Remand Centre [Video]

An inmate died at the Edmonton Remand Centre on Thursday night.

The Edmonton Police Service was called to a sudden death there at around 8 p.m.

An autopsy has been scheduled and police are investigating the death.

On Wednesday, a 26-year-old inmate died in hospital after he was attacked at the Edmonton Remand Centre.

An autopsy found the man died as a result of blunt head injury. Police ruled his death a homicide.

A man is in custody in connection to that death and charges are pending.
