Service resumes on the metro’s orange line after water main leak: STM [Video]

Montreal’s transit authority said a water main break disrupted service on part of the metro’s orange line during the afternoon commute Wednesday.

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) said water leakage affected service between Côte-Vertu and Berri-UQAM stations.

The water main break was between Lionel-Groulx and Place St-Henri stations, according to STM spokesperson Amélie Régis.

“The valve has now been closed by city crews, so we should be able to resume service at the indicated time once the water has been pumped out,” Régis wrote in an email to CTV news.

Shuttle buses were also sent to accommodate the affected passengers.

Service was expected to be up and running by 4:15 p.m., but the transit authority pushed it back another hour to 5:15 p.m.

Shortly before 6 p.m., the STM said on social media that service had returned to normal.
