Several dead and sick animals found in ‘bad smelling’ Ontario home [Video]

Reports of a “bad smell” coming from an Ontario home forced police to break in where they found several animals that were dead or in distress.

The OPP in Orillia say a neighbour on May 7 called to complain about the odour coming from a home on Carlton Street in the city’s south end.

Officers said repeated attempts to contact the residents of the home were met with no response which led them to force their way into the house.

Once the door was open, police said the smell was so strong that the fire department was called in leading to personnel in Hazmat suits to enter the building where several animals, mostly cats, were found. Some of the animals were dead while others were in dire need of medical attention.

Animal Welfare agents were called in to assist and remove the animals.
