Several Ontario universities have been named among the world’s best for employability.

The 2025 ranking, published by British magazine Times Higher Education, named 10 Canadian universities among its list of 250, five of which are in Ontario.

The ranking, which was designed by HR consultancy Emerging, looks at which universities the recruiters at top companies think are best at preparing their students for the workforce.

The universities listed are from 42 countries overall.

Employers voted for universities in their own country as well as from around the world if they hire internationally.

In Ontario, the University of Toronto tops the list with a global ranking of 14, though that is down from 12 in the previous year’s ranking.

The other Ontario universities listed are McMaster, the University of Ottawa, University of Waterloo, and Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson).
