A number of flights to and from Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga have been cancelled on Friday due to a large and nasty winter storm that’s wreaking havoc in the U.S. South.

Pearson Airport officials said three Friday flights to Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina have been cancelled while one remains on time.

They added another three flights scheduled to arrive in Toronto from the Charlotte airport have also been cancelled, with two incoming flights from the U.S. city on time.

As always during bad weather, Pearson officials advise travellers to check the status of their flights ahead of time before leaving for the airport.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport officials said on social media the airport is “fully open and operational,” but that the winter storm is impacting some flights.

Pearson officials also reposted a notice to social media on Friday afternoon from the Federal Aviation Administration …
