Sex offender arrested after making advances toward girl, Port Moody police say [Video]

Police in Port Moody say they arrested a known sex offender Thursday after he allegedly breached his court-ordered conditions.

According to the department, around 5:15 p.m. the man made “inappropriate sexual advances” toward a young female at a bus stop near Moody Centre Skytrain Station.

Police arrested the man, who they say is under conditions not to communicate with anyone under the age of 16, and charges are pending.

“We want to commend the member of the public who aided the youth and reported this to police immediately,” Const. Sam Zacharias with the Port Moody Police Department said in a Friday news release. “Anyone who may have additional information is asked to contact us.”
