Sexual assault and robbery charges after series of violent incidents in Ajax, Ontario [Video]

A Scugog man has been charged with robbery and sexual assault after several incidents in Ajax that appear to have targeted women, police say.

Seth Mantifel, 27, is facing sexual assault and two counts of robbery after a woman was touched ‘inappropriately’ by an unknown man near Harwood Avenue and Clements Road on Thursday, May 29.

The woman reported the incident to police a few hours later.

The next afternoon another woman was walking through a plaza on Harwood Avenue when she was approached by a man who police say attempted to take her backpack.

Despite his aggressive behaviour and demands, she managed to escape and approach a nearby bystander for help. The man then fled the area on foot.
