A shawarma restaurant chain known for its humourous TikTok videos and rapid growth, is about to open its second Brampton location.

Shelby’s Legendary Shawarma is preparing to launch in the outer area of Bramlea City Centre and with it comes a lot of competition as shawarma restaurants appear to be popping up everywhere in Brampton.

“Oh. A shawarma place. Never would have guessed,’ said one Reddit user upon hearing the news.

“How many more do we need?” commented another.

So what’s the big deal about Shelby’s?

It’s all about the ingredients say founders Yazan El-Shalabi and Yasser Ali.

Starting in a food trailer in small-town Ontario, the pair say they used the recipes handed down by their mothers to earn a loyal following that quickly grew.

“(It’s a) legendary approach to traditional Arabian food,” the pair say on their website. “That Arabian flavour is met with other world cuisines to create something that is both unique and downright delicious — the best of both worlds …
