The case of a missing Watertown kayaker is going global less than a week after investigators revealed their suspicion that he may have faked his own death and fled to Europe.Ryan Borgwardt, 44, took that fishing trip Aug. 12 to Green Lake. His family reported him missing when he didn’t come home.Green Lake County Sheriff’s deputies found Borgwardt’s kayak overturned, life vest in the water and fishing gear on a nearby shore.The search for Borgwardt continued for 54 days; Sheriff Mark Podoll told ABC News in a new interview that the investigation shifted last month.”Everything that led us from Oct. 7 to now proves that it was a hoax,” Podoll said. “This was pre-planned.
