A man has died after a shooting in a restaurant parking lot in Burlington.

Emergency crews responded to the shooting in the parking lot of the Mandarin Restaurant at 1881 Fairview St. around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Halton Regional Police said.

A man was found shot and transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and there is no known risk to public safety.

Police said they have not made any arrests and do not have any suspect descriptions to provide.

Anyone who may have dash cam footage of Fairview Street and Brant Street between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. is asked to contact police.
