One man has been shot dead by police early Thursday morning at Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga.
In an update around 8:20 a.m., Peel Regional Police confirmed that police shot a man at the airport.
Just before 10 a.m., the Special Investigations Unit confirmed the 30-year-old man was pronounced dead in hospital.
Early information indicates the man produced firearm and three Peel Regional Police officers officers shot the man, the SIU said.
The officer involved in the shooting was not injured, according to police.
The shooting happened just before 7 a.m. outside the Terminal 1 departures area.
Police said this is an isolated incident and there are no known threats to public safety.
