‘Significant Weather Event’: Snow storm causes delays in Mississauga and Brampton [Video]

The biggest storm of the season has descended on southern Ontario and much of the GTA with up to 15 cm of snowfall expected in Mississauga and Brampton while some part of the province could see up to 40 cm.

Environment Canada says to expect between 2 to 4 cm of snowfall per hour in Mississauga and Brampton.

With periods of heavy, blowing snow expected, MiWay Transit in Mississauga says to plan for possible delays and detours on routes while Brampton Transit says some riders are experiencing up to 30 minute delays on several routes due to the weather and road conditions.

No major incidents have been reported.

The Region of Peel, Environment Canada and the OPP say drivers and riders should avoid any unnecessary travel.
