The first day of spring is here but it won’t feel like it in southern Ontario.
Temperatures hit an unseasonable 21 C at Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga on Wednesday, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
For the first day of spring, Thursday, the weather is expected to turn in the GTA and southern Ontario.
It will be mostly cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of rain Thursday morning. Then, winds will move in with gusts from 30 to 60 km/hr in the afternoon.
A very spring-like high of 13 C is forecast for the morning but the temperature will drop in the afternoon and evening.
As the temperature plunges to -4 C in the evening, there is a 30 per cent chance of flurries in the GTA, according Environment Canada.
The Niagara Region and Hamilton also have a chance of flurries Thursday night.
