BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Low pressure moving into Western Quebec will bring us a messy day today. Snow, sleet, and freezing rain will spread from west to east across the state through the early morning hours. Use caution on the roads this morning as things could be slippery in spots especially untreated surfaces. The snow and icy mix will change to rain from mid-morning through the early afternoon hours with the last spots to see the changeover being across Aroostook County. Precipitation will be steadiest/heaviest through the morning hours then taper to scattered rain showers for the afternoon and evening. Before any changeover happens… snow and sleet accumulations of a coating to 1″ along with a glaze of ice will be possible for most spots… especially away from the coast. Areas from the western mountains through the Moosehead Region and Millinocket northward could see an inch or two of snow …
