Snow removal operations underway in Ontario towns and cities [Video]

The City of Oshawa will be doing overnight boulevard snow removal in the downtown core from February 24 to February 28, with on-street parking not permitted after 10 p.m. on those days.

Temporary signs will be in place to notify motorists of parking restrictions and ongoing snow removal operations.

Pedestrians are advised to exercise caution and use alternative sidewalks where necessary. Temporary lane closures will be required during snow removal operations.

The work is already underway in neighbouring Whitby.

Oshawa officials are reminding residents (and visitors) that parking that interferes with snow clearing operations at any time of day is not allowed. Any vehicle parked in a manner that hinders efficient snow clearing operations may be ticketed or towed.

Seasonal parking restrictions are also in effect until April 1 on city streets.
